This picture is believed to have been taken on Site: 11.The Nissan hut behind these
airmen is possibly hut 373, if this is correct then the picture being taken is from in
front of Nissan hut 361. It is believed that one of the airmen in this picture is
Sergeant D.S. Gould, possibly a Wireless Operator with the crew of
Flying Officer R.S. Bastick.
Flying Officer R.S. Bastick and his crew failed to return from operations over
th
Dortmund on the 20 February 1945. Sergeant Gould was fortunately not on this
operation. The crew are unaccounted for and are remembered on the
Runnymede Memorial.
