The crew’s pilot, Squadron Leader Sleight came from a Grimsby fishing family and
post war purchased at least five trawlers.
This one, GY 626 named Fiskerton (formally known as Balmoral) was built in 1962
and weighed 199 Tons.
The Sleight′s family owned at least four other trawlers named after RAF stations they
were:
Syeston, Waddington, Scampton and Kirmington.
