Squadron. The squadron was at RAF Palam from the 18 February 1943 until 18 September, the

squadron moving to RAF Basal in the Punjab on the same day and resident at Basal, with a
th
detachment at Chakiala, Rawalpindi until the 8 February 1944. Moving the same day to and
th
staying at RAF Comilla, Bengal just one day. On the 9 the squadron was on the again to RAF
st
Agartala (Tripura) with a detachment at Imphal (Manipur). Here it stayed until the 1 September
nd
then moved to RAF Imphal (Manipur), again just for a day, returning to RAF Basal on the 2
th
November until the 10 December 1944.On the same day the squadron moved back to RAF
Agartala (Tripura), with detachments at Kangla, Manipurand Monywa, Burma until the 19 March
th
1945, the squadron on the 19 on the move again, this time to Akyab with detachments and their
th
servicing echelons at Monywa, Sagaing Division, Burma, Wangjing, Manipur and Meiktila ,
Mandalay, Burma. Wangjing airfield was where Harry finished his war. His release document
stamped at Wangjing airfield Orderly room, the unit stamp of 6264 Servicing echelon dated 25 th
February 1946 shown on the RAF Form 2520 /13 release document.
