Queen Mary low loaders with an Avro Lancaster airframe lashed into position.

In this manner Lancaster airframes would have been transported from RAF
Waddington along the A15 to the Avro Repair Depot at Bracebridge Heath.

This Lancaster, ND824 was on charge to 83 Squadron as OL F - Freddie, a
Pathfinder Squadron of No. 8 Group based at RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire. Then
in April 1944 the Squadron was transferred to No. 5 Group and based at RAF
Coningsby in Lincolnshire as a Main Force squadron. This Lancaster was struck off
th
charge and scrapped on the 28 November 1946.
