Dortmund as seen from a German military aircraft, this is the centre of the city and the damage
from both the U.S.A.A.F and Bomber Command is evident, it taking till the end of the 1970’s
before full reconstruction was achieved. In East Germany the situation was dire, it not completing
a full recovery until well after the fall of the Berlin wall in the late 1980’s.
