This photograph taken from the roof of the Nuclear Bunker is looking east towards
the airfields, now demolished Technical Site, (In the picture the low wooded area to
the right of the two Hangars). The old ‘A’ flight line perimeter track can be see top left
with the two Hangars. The nearest is the T2 and the rear seen with the sharp peaked
roof is the B1 Hangar used by AVRO for local repair of the Lancasters airframes.
Primtake, a specialist ammunition manufacturer, now occupies the
Nuclear Bunker site.
The white instrument on top of the Bunker is a Ground Zero indicator (GZI)
