Operations Exodus and Post Mortem
Upon the end of the war in Europe on 8 May 1945 and the completion of the Operation Manna

food drops, RAF Fiskerton 576 Squadron aircraft were to be involved in several post-war activities:
the main one was Operation Exodus (the return of POW’s from Europe) and Post Mortem which
was a more secretive operational test of the effectiveness test of the German early warning flight
intruder detection system.
