This bomb release button was salvaged by 103 Squadron Pilot Flight Lieutenant John Henry
DFC, he along with Flight Lieutenant Bob Fairlie DFC. delivered ED 888 to Field Aviation Services
Ltd at Tollerton airfield on the South Western outskirts of Nottingham for scrapping. This airfield
during the war was a Ministry of Aircraft Production facility tasked with repairing and modifying
RAF airframes employing staff from the Civilian Repair Organisation (C.R.O.).
