A group picture showing some of the LM 227’s ground crew. These young lads
serviced, repaired and prepared the Lancaster for each operation in the open
irrespective of the weather conditions. LM 227 was their Lancaster, the pilot and
crew just borrowing the aircraft, the pilot having signed the RAF Form 700.
From the left Bill Honeywell (Airframe Rigger), Johnny Cook (Engine Fitter), Norman
Hall (Engines), Norman Bryan (Engine Fitter to LM 227 and responsible for the nose
art on the Lancaster),Paddy Bennett (Airframe Rigger) and sat in the front Ronnie
