The Wireless Operator Sergeant F. C. Jones was replaced by 4 other Squadron Wireless
                                                Operators on 5 sorties.
The crews replacement Wireless Operators were:

                                               Sergeant P. E. T. Brookes

On the 11 to the 13 August 1945 the Squadron flew to Italy to repatriate Far Eastern prisoners
of war. On this operation the air bombardier was replaced by a second pilot,
                                               Flight Lieutenant Haslam.

The reason Flight Sergeant F. C. Jones did not fly with the crew on these sorties, both war time
and post war is not clear. It is possible this airman had initially a medical issue preventing him
from flying (This is speculation as no comment is made on the Squadron
                                              Operational Record Book).

The other possibility is that spare air bombardiers were given the chance of experiencing
operations, both war and peace time.
