Flying Officer C. D. (Don) Thieme DFC and crew flew in ME 801 three times. The first on the 1
th
February 1945 to Ludswigshafen. The second was on the 7 /8 February 1945 to Kleve and the
th
third on 8 /9 February 1945 to Pölitz.
Don was shot down twice whilst undertaking operations with the Squadron. He evaded both times,
returned to the Squadron and saw out the final war operations. Don sadly passed away in 2006.
