Runnymede Air Forces Memorial
The Memorial at Runnymede is located at Englefield Green, Runnymede Borough, Surrey.
Here, two hundred and eighteen members of 49 Squadron are remembered as they have no
known grave. Douglas and his crew are remembered here, as four of the crew were
not positively identified, with one missing, presumed buried in an unknown grave in the area
of the crash site.
Over the years the original number has reduced as crash sites are discovered and
crew’s remains identified.
