A post war picture taken of Flensburg when Lancasters of No. 1 Group including 576
Squadron took part in Operation ʻPost Mortemʼ. This involved Lancasters flying in
formation towards the European coast with British and American scientist observing
the formation on captured German radar sets. This, and many more exercise’s that
followed laid the foundations for future radar development.
