John seen here during the visit stood in the now demolished B1 hangar. This hangar
would have been used by Avro staff attached to the airfield for local repair of the
Lancasters airframes. Any further complex repairs would be undertaken either at
RAF Scampton, (Base Headquarters) or Bracebridge Heath repair depot next to
RAF Waddington.
