With hostilities over in Europe, Flight Sergeant Tamkin was transferred to the
Middle East Command as engineering ground crew in preparation for
operations in the Far East with Tiger Force, the UK contribution to the
invasion of Japan, an operation which never occurred as hostilities ended.
