20 January 1944, a snow covered RAF Waddington. Flight Lieutenant Raw-Rees,(centre) sat on
a 4000 lb high capacity demolition bomb, known to the crew’s as a ʻCookie.ʼ
The target that night was Berlin, the German capital. Jim was now with 463 RAAF Squadron on
his second tour of operations. To the front left is the crew’s Flight Engineer, Sergeant Jeffreys and
to the right rear is Sergeant Webb, the Air Bombardier.
