This photograph, taken at some point between the end of hostilities and July 1945 shows the third
Commanding Officer of 576 Squadron, Wing Commander Fraser R. McAllister with his senior
ground staff officers in front of ME671 V-Victor2, a ʹBʹ Flight Lancaster. This dispersal for this
Lancaster was on the eastern side of the airfield to the rear of the two hangars. A solar panel farm
now occupies this area. Bricks from the air raid shelters and temporary buildings were pushed into
the hedge bottoms and can still be seen today.
