A picture of the crew in their Dinghy 10 miles off the Dutch coast. This picture was
taken from the 280 Squadron Vickers Warwick Mk 1 from RAF Strubby in
Lincolnshire which dropped an Uffa Fox (Lindholme) airborne lifeboat to the crew.
They were picked up by an RAF high speed rescue launch. Fighters were scrambled
from the UK to provide cover for the rescue. The Luftwaffe did not attempt to
interfere in the rescue of the crew and they all returned to Coningsby safely.
