One of the Luftwaffe pilots who could have shot down John’s Lancaster.
Feldwebel (Sergeant) Emil Weinmann, was born in Zepfenhan in Freiburg Region of
th
Baden-Württemberg, Germany on the 11 August 1920. He passing away in 1999.
Emil emigrated to Canada in 1957. This pilot was credited with at least 17 Abschüss
(shooting down) of Allied aircraft.
