Crew bombing picture taken on 22 March 1945 showing the aiming point in
Hildersheim. The picture was taken at 14-05 and 30 seconds. The Lancaster was on
a course of 118 degrees and its bomb load was a normal area bombing load
consisting of 1x 4,000 lb high capacity demolition bomb known as a ‘Cookie’ to the
crews and 19x 4lb incendiaries canisters. The bombing height was 14,250 feet.
