Two 576 Squadron Lancasters parked up on the grass section of the airfield. By April
                 1945 the squadron was enlarged with a flight from 625 Squadron at RAF Kelston.
                The first airfield to be closed down by No. 1 Group. One Flight went to Fiskerton with
                   the remaining two Flights to RAF Scampton. This enlarged 576 Squadron to 31
                  Lancasters, so it is possible grass sections of the airfield in front of the Hangars
                 would have been used as dispersals. This photograph has the look of being taken
                with the Hangars behind the photographer. The flatness of the ground behind these
                 Lancasters is consistent with the photographer looking west along the airfield, and
                      the building to the left has the look of being the Fire Tender shed with the
                                        Watch Office to the left of the building.
