This ‘frying pan’ dispersal on ‘A’ Flight line is situated (as you approach Fiskerton
from Reepham) to the left of the Fiskerton – Reepham road as you get level with (on
your left) the post war nuclear bunker. It is behind the hedge row and is only one of
three ‘frying pan’ dispersals left intact (the other two are over on the Western side of
the airfield). During 49 Squadron’s tenure at the airfield Lancaster E – Easy would
have sat here. When 576 Squadron took over this was H – How’s dispersal.
On the map below the Fiskerton – Reepham road can be seen as two vertical lines
at the top of the map and dotted ones below. This road was closed during the life of
the airfield and only reopened post war.
