Whilst not a present day picture of the airfields main entrance, this picture shows
what it looked like in the 1940’s.The building behind this unknown airman is the
guard house. The entrance road leading to the airfield technical site is where the
airfield aircrew offices, hangars and buildings relating to the various technical trades
required to operate a heavy bomber squadron were situated. Hall Lane is to the left
running down to its junction with Bardney road.
