This Document from Headquarters No.1 Group authorises the formation of 576 Squadron,
comprising ‘C’ flight of 103 Squadron and four crew’s from 101(Special Duties) Squadron at RAF
Ludford Magna near Louth in North Lincolnshire, with additional crew’s to be supplied by No.1
Groups Heavy Conversion Units. The Bodger crew from 101 Squadron were one of the four crew’s
chosen to form the new 576 Squadron to be based alongside 103 Squadron at RAF Elsham
Wolds.
