The crew were then screened from further operations with 101 Squadron in
preparation for their move to RAF Elsham Wolds where 4 crew’s from 101 Squadron
‘C’ flight and additional crew’s from No.1 Groups Heavy Conversion Units would with
‘B’ flight of 103 Squadron form the new 576 Squadron.

On the 13 December 1943 101 Squadron ‘C’ Flight Commander Squadron Leader
Dilworth was posted along with his crew to RAF Elsham Wolds to form the new 576
Squadron as ‘A’ Flight Commander. The exact date the Bodger crew were posted

out is not noted in the Operational Record Book but it was either the 13 December
or a few days later.
