Armidale Teachers’ College (Armidale NSW) where Bill Trained as a Teacher

Post-Script: When Bill returned from active service at the end of the war, he returned to
his job as a school teacher at the same school he had left to join the RAAF. As a school
teacher and headmaster, he represented his community throughout his life. He was also a
dedicated member of the Legacy Club which supported veterans’ families. At the time of
his death in November 1970 he was a Charter Member and Secretary of the Mount Druitt
Rotary Club in Sydney NSW. In remembrance of his war service Bill’s name is also
engraved on the memorial stone at Tarana where he was teaching when he enlisted.
