The MV Stirling Castle arrived on schedule at Sydney Harbour’s Woolloomooloo No. 9 wharf at

2pm on 4 November. The Australian RAAF personnel were disembarked and transported to the
Bradfield Park RAAF site where it was arranged for them to meet up with their immediate family.

Bill returned to his former roll as school teacher the end of January 1946, He was one among
many teachers who had trained at the Armidale Teachers College and had volunteered for
service. The ATC retains a Roll of Honour consisting of 3 boards to show the names of their
students, graduates & staff who enlisted in the services and those who died in service.
