An oblique present day picture of the airfield looking south. The remains of the main
runway can be seen as can the perimeter tracks surrounding the airfield. In the
centre top can be seen a wood, this was the technical site were all the administration
and technical buildings once were. Sadly all are now gone, the only buildings left
standing are on the old accommodation site that once was the Officers and
Sergeants Mess buildings. These are now used as a local Industrial estate. To the
right middle of the picture can be seen a rectangular shaped wood. This was part of
the bomb stores site. ‘A’ Flight line was over to the middle right of the picture, ‘B’
Flight line was to the left middle and from April 1945 ‘C’ Flight line running parallel
left to right nearest the camera.
