John seen here in one of the Lancasters rear turret. Note the perspex has been removed from in
front of the gunner’s sight. This would have given the rear gunner a clear view but at the cost of
the gunner sitting in the turret with the slipstream at -20 degrees and below blowing through the
turret for up to 10 hours at a time.
