The airfield was selected for the installation of solar panels, with the local council declaring the
airfield a site of historical importance and the energy company agreeing to retain the
remaining operating surfaces.
Lark-Fiskerton Airfield Solar PV Park is a 13MW solar PV power project. This project was
developed by Lark Energy and is currently owned by Next Energy Solar Fund.
The project is a ground-mounted and spread over an area of 70 Hectares. The project supplies
enough clean energy to power 9,000 households.
The project cost approximately £12,756,000 in 2015.
The project was commissioned in March 2015.
Lark Energy were selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.
South Korean based Q- Cells were selected as the supplier of PV modules for the project, these
units manufactured at their factory in Germany.
