Bombing Instruction Training at RCAF Mountain View

Following Bill’s graduation as an Air Bomber (O) from the 2AOS Edmonton on 19 Feb 1943 he
th
was sent to the RCAF Mountain View Station in Ontario, Canada. This was the No.6 B&GS site
which was formerly part of RCAF Trenton air base and was located about 200km east of Toronto
on Lake Ontario. From Edmonton in Alberta, it was a long journey which he would have travelled
via rail. The photo of Bill below was a 3-minute time lapse which was taken shortly after he had the
‘flu at Mountain View. The snow scene photo was taken by him at one of the many train stops and
tells us all we need to know about the heavy winter conditions during his transit.
